Glogsters
I have had my students make glogsters for different learning concepts but today they made Get Well Glogsters for a student who has an ankle injury and won't be back to school. They put their glogsters on our class blog so she was able to read them immediately. Instant get well cards for students who are out! Fun!

Week 9 Thing 23 Last Reflection
This was the absolute BEST technology instruction. I have learned more useful technology skills with this wonderful format. Many times workshop instruction is not viable because the presenter is in a hurry to get the information across to many people and many of us feel rushed and overwhelmed. I have found that when I have been instructed by a techno savy person that they just assume you know what they are talking about and everytime they go ahead and just do what their teaching me to do and then I end up being clueless!
This on the other hand was GREAT instruction, others should learn from you!! I was able to work at my own pace and on my own time with out the pressure of instructors who feel that I wasn't getting it "fast enough". Not only did I actually learn EVERYTHING but I taught it to all of my students and another teacher and her class!! This not only helped me but gave me the confidence to help 40 kids and a teacher!
My students have become so much richer from this experience because they have actively learned to use glogster, our class blog, toondoodle, tagexdo, Edmodo, Go animate!, Animoto, Voki~avatars, wall wisher and more! These technology tools enhance my classroom lessons now, and they have certainly made my students excited about learning. I can't thank you enough for this absolutely amazing instruction! I hope you have more to come!!

Week 7 Thing 17
I made a classroom website using Weebly.com. Was sooo easy to create! I made an intro page, a link to our class blog and and third page with pictures. This was easy and fun and I think the kids will love it BUT I can not find it! Help! I hit publish and went back on using the subdomain address and it can't be found. The only way I can get to it is to go onto weebly.com and sign in. Suggestions would be helpful!
Week 7 Thing 16
I have discovered the world of Wikis! This is a great way for teachers to give students a tool to share ideas, find information, share ideas, and work together on group projects. Being a fourth grade teacher, I really like the idea of students writing and revising and then submitting a paper as a group project. After further research I found a teacher who posts a classroom bookshelf by using shelfari and who also has the students post their podcasts. Wiki's are as easy as Write, Edit, Save and Link!

Thing 14 Edmodo
I set up a PLN for my students to have another way to communicate with each other and with me when we are not in school. I will have to spend more time on Edmodo to figure out all the different features such as how to search for groups.

delicious.com bookmarking......not working?
Everytime I try to add new websites to my delicious page it says, "having temporary problems". Anyone else having this problem?
Week 5 Thing 11 Different web 2.0 Tools
I found Google Reader to be a helpful and quick way for me to check for new comments on blog walls and for our learning Web project! I like using the Google Advanced search feauture to find powerpoints that are at the appropriate level for my students. Since I am shown only the ones at a certain reading level, it saves me time looking at countless ones that are too advanced.

Classroom blog
My students are learning right along with me! I am happy that they log into our classroom blog on the weekends and post their own talking Avatars, all without my help! I am looking forward to having them use their Avatars in projects, right now they are just learning how to make and post them. I love it when kids take the technology that they have learned at school and use it at home! Classroom

Vocabulary Comic Strips!
This week I taught my students how to make their own comic strips. I have them the assignment to make a comic strip of a weekly vocabulary word. I then posted some of them on our class blog to share. This helped them understand the word by actually having it used in a conversation in their comic strip. They can't wait to learn how to make their own talking Avatar next week!

What teachers can do with blogs?
Being new to blogging I was searching for an article that could help explain why I want to have blogging as part of my classroom routine. I found a great article just ckick here----Teaching Today/
Week 3 Thing 7
I was a little frustrated with photo editing but once I got a the hang of it....I love it! The photo that I have posted was taken in a rush outside of graduation under very, very, red lights. I was able to crop the person (ex girlfriend of graduate :() and make the photo much more clear. Adding text to pictures will be great for the classroom setting.

Week 2 Thing 3 Reflection
I started late in this class so I am feeling a bit overwhelmed but I am very excited about all that I have discovered so far! What a great tool the delicious.com site is!!! I think it is wonderful that I can access my bookmarks from school, home and any comuter in the house! The Avatar character was fun! I am going to teach my students how to make one for themselves next week! I set up my class with kidblog.org and I am thinking of having them post about their favorite reading center of the week!!
